Renters insurance protects you when you least expect it. One never knows when a calamity may strike a home. When my cousin’s family was out of town on vacation, something similar happened to them. A sudden storm passed over their house, and one of their trees caught on fire because of a lightning strike. While the house itself wasn’t damaged, their car was totaled–and they weren’t even there to know about it.
