I work at a middle school, but needed a second job to help make ends meet. I took a part-time job at a local restaurant near where I live and where the school is located. I took the part-time job as a hostess. It was extremely a lot of fun. However, almost everyone that worked there was a lot younger. They were always having get togethers after work and kept asking me to come over. One shift was extremely long, so I went over with the rest of the group after work. It was located at one of the employee’s house. They had a baby grand piano and a guitar in their living room. Normally I am too shy to play in front of people other than my family. After a few drinks, I had the nerve to play the guitar and to their surprise, I was good. I could not have done this without learning how to read guitar tabs. I was a great way to break the ice with new people.
